HAVELOCK, Ontario.--(http://copperhill.ca)-- Copperhill Solar DIY, a self empowerment solar company, is celebrating a grand opening on Saturday, October 22, 2011 (9am to 2pm) of their new location at 5246 Hwy 7 (next to DeeJayTrailers)

“We are incredibly excited that people can come to our new location to see various solar systems in use,” says John Verway, President of Copperhill.  With 8 ½ years in the solar industry, the new location allows us to display many large and small solar systems.  The 5000 sq foot (office and showroom) and outdoor solar park will serve as a Solar Classroom educating consumers on array of different solar systems before they buy. The Copperhill team is fully committed to inspire, educate, empower and contribute to the fast-growing solar energy market.

John and Sonja Verway are no strangers to the solar market.  Copperhill was the first company to CSA certify an evacuated thermal tube system and have installed it in over 40 cities across Canada.     Their superiorly designed microFIT Atrax™ Tracker system is another example of their dedication to this industry assist customers generate investment income.

Copperhill has expanded to sell DIY and fully installed solar electric systems to meet any budget and need. “We are fully committed to saving the world by empowering the individual” says Mr Verway.  “The microFit program brought solar energy to the forefront, making it possible for many citizens to benefit directly.   Our small scale systems are designed to help people take the first step.  The opportunities for consumers are huge,” continues Mr Verway, “additional income for the average citizen, new jobs, cleaner energy and the possibility of reduced future energy costs as well as a safer future without nuclear energy or carbon based fuels.”

Change is required.   “Solar energy is a big part of the solution for the toxic waste released into our environment and to empower self-sufficiency for the consumer” shares Mr Verway.  A 2009 MIT study found new nuclear plants cost twice as much to build as they did only eight years ago. Coal-fired plants, once a cheap source of energy based on an abundant fuel, cost far more because of emissions restrictions.  Altogether, this will translate into a possible inexorable hydro price hike for a commodity that's already 30 per cent more expensive than in 1990.

In addition to offering a full range of solar products (DIY kits starter kits, solar water heating systems, microFit and Fit installations and solar power gadgets, electrical components, batteries, invertors, etc..), Copperhill will be home to a unique Solar Theme Self-Sufficiency park displaying both the large and small systems and will educate people about growing their own food, bio-dynamic gardening and getting back to the land. Electricity for the offices and showroom will be provided by a 60 panel Atrax™ tracker.

“Our world needs to change for sustainability,” says Mr Verway. “I think people individually can encourage people collectively to adopt the changes that are needed. The changes have started. Most people can now see solar panels in their own neighbourhoods.   The team at Copperhill Solar plans to have many educational workshops in the future utilizing the theme park and 5000 sq ft office and show room as a educational centre.

“If you make such sustainability measures accessible and realizable for all the people, we believe people will respond.   We believe beneficial change requires a new way of thinking and returning to all the elements, Sun, water, soil, plants”   says John.  It is time to act now for generations to come. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday 9-5 and Saturdays 9-1.
